Default Newbie lvl 1 Warrior

I just started this and every time I connect to a server it just shows a Human Warrior lvl 1 named "Newbie" with no options on the screen at all.

I have been looking for how to fix this but I can't find a post about it. Can anyone help?

Maybe your resolution for windows or for EQ isn't working. I think widescreens in particular probably need to have adjustments made to get them working properly.

I don't have a widescreen monitor. I'll try messing around with the resolution though to see if that changes anything.

Also, I still have no idea what to do with the EQEmu-0.7.0-1123. Could it have anything to do with that?

I think resolution is a pretty common issue. Give that a try first (both your desktop resolution and EQ resolution settings) and also maybe try running in windowed mode (ALT+ENTER) and see if that helps.

Really, the only other thing I can think of that would cause that is a bad installation or wrong version of EQ. Or a custom UI that isn't compatible with Titanium.

I tried messing with the resolution...no luck. Windowed or full screen, niether work. I'm using EQ Titanium.

It's like I have no UI at all. Think it could be anything other than a bad install? And is there a need for me to use the files in EQEmu 0.7.0-1123? They're just sitting on my desktop and I can't figure out where they are supposed to go.

If you're only going to play on another server you can throw those files away, those are to host your own server.

The unpatched Titanium client is really a POS, but it's the best we have to work with... The fact that you can't easily change video settings in Everquest untill you're in game is another oversight by the original developers

Take a look at the eqclient.ini file in the everquest directory. There should be some lines in there about resolution, windowed mode, things like that. It should be pretty easy to figure if it's out of whack. Report back with what you find.

a friend of mine had this similar problem with his EQ when he installed. it took us a while to figure out but eventually what we did was i just sent him my eqclient.ini file because my eq was working fine.

he replaced his file with the one i sent him and it fixed his problem.

so.... just ask someone who u know has a working EQ to send you their eqclient.ini file and you should be in business.

I don't know if it works at character select or not, but the F10 key toggles the UI display. Maybe just pressing F10 would fix it, though I kinda doubt that.

You could try reinstalling Titanium and making sure you don't patch or anything. Also, make sure you didn't install Titanium over an existing EQ installation. Otherwise, it could be using some of your old configuration files and maybe even old UI files as well. If so, I would recommend uninstalling EQ, deleting the whole directory and then installing Titanium again and see if that helps.
