Default EQ closes after character select

Ok when I log onto a server and choose/create my character, when I hit "Enter World" it pops up a loading screen. After about 2 seconds it closes and does nothing. Any ideas?

I read through the readme and all the sticky posts and found nothing :(

I've asked on IRC too but they didn't know either.

Thanks.

That's called a CTD (Crash to Desktop). Try making a differant char that starts in a differant zone (surefall glade seems to work best, try a human druid).

Hmm well it turns out it's only when I make an Iksar. I made a Dark Elf Necromancer last night and was able to play fine. I'm not sure if it really is the starting location though. When I let khuong know I was having the CTD problem on his server, he moved the Iksar I made to The Arena (or something like that) and I still couldn't get on. It might just be the Iksar.

It has something to do with the zone. Qeynos, freport, akanon and several others are best known for causing crashes.

Check the Linux group. We just had a discussion about this.

Default If anything this needs to be fixed

It would be nice if you fixed this because it is pretty frustrating having your client crash everytime you try to log on...all the best luck.
