Fedora 10 Compiles - What It Took

If you had not done this first, then it's very possible the compile errors were due to missing header files or libraries (or possibly even the compiler itself).

You never did tell me which version of gcc you were using when you got the compile errors.

Also, now I'm curious what kind of errors you were getting. Do you have any examples? Thanks.

Also, could you run:

gcc --version

and

Code:

g++ --version

and post the output here? I'm curious what versions actually are installed on your system now given the steps you took in the first post.

I managed to blow up my fedora install :(... wont go into great detail how but ill tell you it wasnt very hard lol. Sorry about that

No problem. If you try again, try just the 'yum groupinstall Development' and then try to compile the server. See if that works for you or not.
