Tried the FAQs but still can't connect

Hey everybody,

So I read the FAQ and went through the steps to fix my problem. Which is when I try to connect, my screen turns black and all I can see is the little loading bar (delivering lion meat to Halas and such) then it just goes back to the login screen.

I do live in a dorm but i've been working with the IT guys and they're positive my 5998 port is not being blocked. I have the latest drivers, ect, ect...

I've changed my resolution all around but the same thing keeps happening. Any ideas?

Try going here:

http://www.t1shopper.com/tools/port-scanner/

Enter 5998 in the "Scan a single port number:" field and click "Scan Port".

If you get a message like:

X.X.X.X isn't responding on port 5998 ().

Then, your dorm IT guys that manage the proxy don't know what they are talking about or you have a firewall or something else blocking your connection.
