Either that or your preferences are not set correctly to point to the correct database?

Just a thought.

I am having this same problem. It is pointed at my eq database... But, it won't let me enter anything, says, "Cannot perform this operation on a closed dataset". And also, no items are listed with correct stats... I have items.sql in my bin directory...

Ah. That's a very old problem, related to the initial database state. Click on "Commit Changes" 2 or 3 times to reset the database tables to edit mode. That should fix you up.

1. make sure the item ID is less than 32768. People have said that IDs that are 32768 or higher don't work.

2. Make sure the Icon ID is set.

3. Make sure the item "Type/visuals" drop-down is properly set (e.g. 63: armor)

4. Make sure the item "flag" drop-down is set (use 0000h for most items).

5. Make sure the item "type" drop-down is set (e.g. 10: armor)

6. Make sure the material is set (usually 0)

7. Make sure the magic flag is set (12 = nonmagical)

8. I'm not sure what else. My computer doesn't like EQW for some reason, so it's hard-to-impossible for me to test the client/emu combination :( There have been reports of problems creating new items for some time, though there have been reports of successes as well. Since much of the item structure is unknown, it MIGHT be due to fields not being filled in properly. Can anyone who has successfully created original items weigh in on this?

- I write the admin tool, but I DO NOT work on the emu, nor do I play it. I've cured myself of MMORPGs
