Default OpenSuse - Perl 5.8

I am using OpenSuse, an older version and an older version of the EqEmu. I had to do some OpenSuse updates and they installed Perl 5.8.8 and I just noticed my quest no longer are working. How do you install the older version of Perl in Linux ? I am thinking this is not going to be easy.

pop in your CD, start up YaST, set up your CD as a source, and search for perl. it should display the version on the CD as a potential package version, and install it. You may also want to uncheck the newer version perl installation to ensure there isn't conflicts first.. If 5.8.8 doesn't come with your Cd, then just do a search for the package in the yast software manager, and pray it's in there. If not, uninstall perl via yast, then go find the source of perl 5.8.8 from perl's website and build it. I'm hoping if you're running linux you understand how to build from source, or if not, know how to RTFM to figure it out since virtually every readme covers it to some point.

Okay maybe I am wrong here. I am guessing when I copied the server from Debian to Suse 10.1, it broke then. The only perl available on the CD was 5.8.8. What now ?
