Well, there are ways to generate ascii characters like that just by doing key strokes. But, doing that to bump your server name to the top of the list is frowned upon. We have been trying to come up with a good solution to make it so servers aren't sorted based on those characters. Quite a few solutions have been considered, but I don't think any of them are the perfect solutions, which is why they haven't been put in yet. Though, I think maybe just not allowing server names that start with anything other than a letter might be the best solution. As long as servers don't start naming themselves "AAAAAA Server" to get to the top :P Unfortunately, we can't just make servers sort by population without having side-effects, because I think that would be the best way to handle it.
