Wshew, glad I'm not the only one with this problem.

I'll keep an eye out for answers and I'll share anything I learn with ya. My debug thread: http://www.eqemulator.org/forums/showthread.php?t=32173

Sweet! Misery loves company!

I've started the SVN transfer of the 3.7 GB of map files from the pre-March2010 guide, just in case I need them, but with all the conflicting guides and instructions, I have a hard time trying to figure out the next step.

At present, I have a working server, character created (sitting in Mines of Gloomindeep), and I can log in and see the zone with all the NPCs (as I said before, with armor, items and casting spells). I saw a rat come near one of the NPCs and watched him kill it, so things appear to be working fairly well.

I think if I can get this problem solved, there may not be much more to do. Hopefully this is a common issue and someone has a simple answer!

I believe it was Trevius who posted solutions to this in other threads. I will look for them and post if I find it. I had the same issue and it ended up being missing SQL commands. I'm still learning all of this, but I believe it's possible when new database revisions come out that some SQL code/commands may be missing. Again, I'll see if I can find it again and post if I do.

Apply the sql updates to your database that come with the emulator code. Assuming you downloaded PEQ 1589 (I think that's the old number. There's a 1667 database available now) you would need to apply any with a number greater than that. They are in the utils/sql/svn directory.

The one in particular that is most likely to fix that one problem is 1618_zone.sql.

If that isn't it, look in the logs that the emulator creates in the logs directory for errors that will give you clues on where to troubleshoot next.
