This happens everytime someone tries to log on to my server. Strangely enough it does the exact same thing when i had it setup on my windoz box. Hardware problem? bog? Any ideas?

They get to the char select and just b4 it appears or shorrtly after, those disconnect msgs show up on my end.

No ideas from anyone? The amount of opcodes with a length, and the amount of 0byte ones, varies from time to time. But there are always some b4 and after a guild request, and then a disconnect.

I was thinking maybe hardware related, like network card or hub or something. But it happens on my windows setup as well as my linux setup. The same thing.

I can only assume its hardware related somehow. Considering it happens on both my PCs and on yours im running out of ideas. It could be the hub, but its standard cablemodem->uplink hub->PCs, no router or firewalls in place. Network cards? Both PCs use D-Link network cards. Besides network cards or the hub, nothing else is consistant between them.

Is your linux box you're running this on have more than one ethernet card? If so is it a router/firewall?

Try reading this post: http://forums.eqemu.net/showthread.p...;threadid=1134

I took TheCoder's patch and changed it for the 0.3.8/0.3.9 release. The patch list is near the bottom of page 2. This might help.

Also a friend of mine had this same problem. He has 2 computers runnin EQ. One could connect to my server and play, the other always disconnected just before the char screen.

Re-installing EQ on his computer didn't help. The wierd thing is he could connect to EQlive just fine.
