Default Private/Solo Server?

Hello everyone - new to EQEmu.

I cancelled my EQ Live account about six months ago. Because of this, I have every expansion/patch released up until that point. I understand that my current game files, because they have been updated, will not work with EQEmu (can't get past char select). Would I be able to somehow create a private, offline server/instance of the game that would run on MY current game files? If so, how?

I understand that EQEmu will not support updated game files, but would it still be a problem if I'm not running a server through EQEmu and making it public?

Thanks in advance

No matter if your server is public or private you will still need to use a freshly installed supported client version to play on it. There's more info here: http://www.eqemulator.org/wiki/wikka...akka=PlayGuide

Thank you both for the replies. I have been to that link before but I wasn't sure exactly how everything worked on the machine end (eg. Whether certain files are stored serverside or not). I was hoping to not have to buy another copy of a game that I already have but EQEmu seems more than worth the $20 for Underfoot.

Hopefully I'll see everyone in game soon.
