Default Exploring zones/planes

Hello everyone, I'm brand new to EQEmu, and I love it so far. I've been playing Project1999 Ruins of Kunark server and it's such an amazing blast from the past. I am hoping someone can help me with this question(pardon my wall of text):

Back in the day, I remember in for a little while during EQ they had the option for players to log in and control a mob in a zone on certain servers, and this was great because you could explore boss rooms and the like (one time I was a goblin in LOIO and I got to explore the Sarnak hold etc). When I played the game, I never got to see so many of the Planes and other high-level zones, and I'd really like to somehow without having to raid/get to 60. Is there a suggested way someone might have that I could accomplish this? I'd ideally like to just have a char with infinite HP that can one-shot mobs and bosses or something, but I'd be happy with just being a random mob too like before, just to see all the stuff and bosses. I know a bunch of these zones have Keys, etc. Any advice would be appreciated. Sorry if this is asked often! Thanks in advance

It sounds like what you want is a non-legit server where you are given # commands that let you set your level, heal yourself to full or go invulnerable, use the kill command and the zone command as well. You would probably want to be able to summon any item as well. All of that is possible on a server that allows it. The problem is that those type of servers are ones where people play it one time for about 2 hours then they never play on it again so it is impossible to keep a steady player-base and the servers don't last very long. They do pop up from time to time, but not very often these days.

One option would be to setup your own server where you can do anything you want on it and set it however you want so you can do all of the things you want to do. If that sounds like it would be too hard for you to do, your other option might be to try out some of the custom servers out there. Most of the custom servers have very accelerated experience rates so you can level up to max level very quickly. A lot of them also have teleporters that can send you to most non-customized zones you might want to see. In those zones, the NPCs are generally very easy to handle when you are max level, so you would be able to see quite a bit of content without having to do a ton of work. You might even find that you enjoy playing on custom servers, since you can normally make some good progress quickly without a lot of the downtime that is seen on the more live-like servers.
