Don't know if it will fix your problem though. I suspect you may be missing the tables necessary for the login server to work as that is a common problem. This guide:

Skip anything you've done as the result of whatever guide you have been following, and don't get confused if you compiled your own login server (which I recommend), and you should be fine. The important parts are creating the tables for registration and accounts and getting the right values into them.
