FYI, there is nothing wrong with Windows 8 and running EQ / EQEmu. It works just fine.

yeah, I know ive been reading a lot and a lot of ppl have no problem. its just weird that I can log all the way in and just cant get it to go into game. its like the game is freezing on character selection screen

assuming this is a copy paste job of eq client to new comp, couple things that can be tried one at a time..

try deleting eqclient.ini
try seting eqgame.exe to one cpu via task manager
try settting eqgame.exe to winxp sp3 compatability mode

ok, reinstalled everything! lol

now its all good till I get to server screen. I select a server (any, tried all) and press play and screen turns black for a sec with a gold cursor then goes back to login screen
