Ok I'm trying to play locally because I use EQEMU mostly for exploring. I patched EQ to the latest version, started the servers and checked, double checked, and triple checked all configurations. SQL DB access is fine, loginserver ini is gtg, the minilogin is set to the same account as i flagged 200 for in the db. Within miniloginaccounts.ini i have tried 127.0.0.1 eqemu eqemu and localhost eqemu eqemu. Log on to the login server ok, made a character ok, but when zoning in, the following error occurs on the zone server: Dropping client: Process=false, ip=127.0.0.1, port=1528. When looking at the world server, I get Unknown opcode errors, not that that has anything to do with it. And of course it boots me back to the server select screen. Tried changing datarates, and messed with the loginserver.ini, and miniloginaccounts.ini. eqhosts.txt file is fine. One thing that I dont quite understand is how accounts within the database and miniloginaccounts.ini come in play. Any help on resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

phibud: next to the unknown opcode error does it say size:0 for all of them, or does one or more have a number like 3145 next to them.

mudman: First, are u using WinEQ to launch everquest? If so dont, try running eq by going to START, then RUN, then TYPE: "everquestdirectory\eqgame.exe" patchme (Replace everquest directory with the path to ur eq dir. EX: "C:\Program Files\EverQuest\eqgame.exe" patchme ) WinEQ has some issues with allowing some ppl to connect to servers...some can connect with it, others cant, so dont use it if you are. Second, for dialup coonections keep your datarate at the default 2 or 5...cant remeber.. think it was 5. Third, if you like, try connecting to my server which will be up from 4:00+ today and ill see what my server's log says when u try to connect.

hhmm.. maybe an eqfile got corrupted, like a map file or somthing, and couldnt load the zone u were zoning into. You did try to log into more than one server right? cause if not then it was the server having issues.... hmm interesting.

Default ,

thanks for the help

As much as I can tell the problem was that some file was currupted in EQ and the patcher was NOT catching it

i don't know if EQ windows has been screwing me up , i tried connecting with and without but was changing stuff all the whie. thanks for the tip though i did not know the EQW was making it hard for some to get on.

what was wierd was it seemed to do it on all my hardrives with EQ suddenly. and for some reason the patcher was not catching it......

a couple quesses
-the patcher sucks
-the old "fix files" were not being overwritten by the patcher

now my server is up with DSL and i am connected fine with the dailup at about 45k, datarate is set at 8. i have not tried EQW yet but assume it will work ok.
