How to start up

Good Morning!

I have just found this site/server and am pretty excited that something like this is available. I'll be digging through my draws to find my old EQ discs and install it and play.

My original character in eq was a Gnome Enchanter, and remembering back on it, soloing was not the easiest thing in the world. Is there enough people playing in early stages to group with or should I look to start out with a necro or a mage?
