Default Items in database do not match them in game

Hopefully I am just missing something really simple.

I have edited my database to be 5x AC/HP/MANA.

While I was in the process of creating characters to test out newb quests for balance, etc, I encountered something strange.

First of all, this a local server right now.

I made on character (a mage), and everything looked right (item stats matched, etc).

On the same account, I made a ranger. When I #findtem for the EXACT same items on that character, they appear as unaltered. I really don't understand why this is happening!

For example (chars are same account),

On character 1, #finditem xxxxx shows a AC 30 HP/MANA 25 item. Same when I giveitem and wear it.

On character 2, #finditem xxxxx shows ac AC 6 HP/MANA 5 item.

Now I cannot fathom that I changed ANYTHING, however (maybe this is unrelated), I recently used the eqemlauncher to patch one of my clients to play on Akkadius server.

Any thoughts?

Make sure you stop the server, run the shared memory program, then start the server again after any item edits.

That didn't help.

I run the shared memory as part of my start.bat as well, so when I am rebooting after edits it usually gets it.

Do you have a recommended level set for your item? That would explain why the stats would be different between 2 characters.

Hah that was it! I was assuming newb gear didn't have a rec level (turns out it was 10).

You should have seen the crap I was trying to get this work.

Thanks so much.
