There is a section in the EULA about emulators. BUT this only applies if you /tell a GM on EQlive with something to the effect of "Hey mr GM... I use EQ emulators all the time and I want you to ban my account."

9. You may not use any third party software to modify the Software to change Game play. You may not use our intellectual property rights contained in the Game or the Software to create or provide any other means through which the Game may be played by others, as through server emulators. You may not take any action which imposes an unreasonable or disproportionately large load on our infrastructure. You may not sell or auction any EverQuest characters, items, coin or copyrighted material.

There is no way for verant/sony to find out you used an emulator (or sold items from EQ live, ect) UNLESS you brag about it in-game (thay could be watching, or could be reading logs), OR say something about it in a public place (chat room/forum) and use your EQlive name or announce your server, character, ect...
