Default A complete newbie question about the emulator

My girlfriend and I would like to start playing everquest again and I happened across this website and thought it would be neat to host our own personal world. I guess my main question is, if I follow the instructions and get the program running. Would my girlfriend and I find our fake server similiar to a real eq server. Like could we start from level one and work our way through the levels fighting mobs etc. I found out the mobs dont wander, (not a real big deal) but do most mobs come prespawned or do I have to do some coding or somthing to make them spawn. It would be neat to zone into crushbone and have everything up, if not what would I need to do to spawn a zone? Basically I am wondering if we would find the emulator to be fun or is it to early for us?

Thanks so much for all your help

This emu is far into development, yet far from being complete. I believe they are doing mob AI in the next release. If you follow the readme EXACTLY as it says, you will get a fully spawned server. The leveling is ALOT faster than EQ, they twinked the exp. I bet, if you know coding, you could change the exp like EQLive. The readme link is on the main emu page (www.eqemu.net). If I was you, I would wait until 4.1 is released before setting up a server. Quests are not including, you have to make them yourself, to know how, just do a forum search for quests. Its not to hard to run a server, as long as you read the readme, have fun!
