My best advice to you is to start working on your server and see if you enjoy doing it. It takes a serious masochist to run an EQEmu server and it is difficult if not downright impossible sometimes to find someone who is aligned with your vision and/or professional enough to treat your project as their own. Nobody is going to take the time and effort that you are to make sure your project is the best unless they have played on your server for a serious amount of time and/or have a good relationship with you.
