Default Installed EQ -> updated eqhost.txt -> no host error

Iv'e installed EQ + Kunark straight from the box.
I havent patched any thing from the offical EQ server.
I have updated the eqhost as stated in the readme.
I have an account here (obviously)

Im getting 2 errors

1. When using the eqgame patchme method i get a no host, check that eqhost.txt exists in the game directory error. after typing my name and password. It is there and it is as it should be.

2. When running through EQW i get an unable to initiale keyboard error..

I have read the read me. and searched the forum, but cant find a fix.

Can any one help ?

Thank you.

Hey, I'm by no means a expert, but I believe if you install out of the box, it will not work. The only way to use eqemu is if you have a patched version of everquest from 2 patches ago. Otherwise, you'll have to wait for the next release.

If I'm wrong someone please correct me, if I'm not, the best thing for you do to, is to do a FULL patch, then leave it alone (actually I would make a backup of the fully patched eq, and use that for EQEmu) this way when the next release comes out, you can use it. Just don't patch anymore after that untill the eqemu servers are set to use it.
