After having this Shaman named Pardon from <Europe> sling a few insults at me, regarding what he thought of my solo play style.. He roots my mob where two other about to spawn, so I call him a retard and moved on..
Well guess who got MUTED for 5 days for "Hate Speech" ?
Yup, the same bard that just had his mob rooted with insults..
Retard was never and is not now even qualified to be put in the category of "Hate Speech"
So the GM's are openly defending the people who create the problems..
It's only a matter of who tattles to mommy first..

I'll admit, it's a very minor offense, but this is your second offense. It's unfortunate, but we enforce the rules as written on Quarm. I think the GM took leniency on you, given that it was a very minor offense.

I can't feel sorry for you when it's clearly against the rules and we've had both a private conversation and a very open conversation about this in a voice chat after our first interaction.

Having a look at your other chat, it seems like you've otherwise had a good time - so I'd hate to see you quit over this, but I also realize that it's none of my business to recommend what you do with your life.

I've since muted the other guy who reported you as we felt it to be right to investigate - equal enforcement of the law, after all - and found that he had violated the same rule he reported you for (though, under sexual content, not the word 'retard') so at least rest knowing that we enforce everything as written.

This could've been a very bidirectional conversation instead of being taken to a public space - so I'm replying politely and publicly on this one instead of scolding you or other chickenshit behavior.

I really do not care if you play here, nor others play here - it is there for those who enjoy it, and those who violate the rules (unfortunately, even if minor) are actioned to the letter of the law.

So if a guy slings insults at you and starts rooting your mobs (as a bard that's no bueno).. Should I:

Petition him?
Call him a do do poopy head?
Ignore it?

Searching for the correct course of action here as I am unclear whether "do do poopy head" has made it to the "Hate Speech" list yet.. I'm sooo behind on things these days

Petitioning someone feels like a spineless and tedious thing to do everytime someone hurts my fee fee's

Ignoring it, seems to scream "Do more!"

Thanks for proof that you can access the logs, last time I got muted, my defense was torn down by the GM saying "We do not have access to the logs"

Repeating some of the information we talked about in private:

Petition him. We've asked people to submit reports this way. It's less chaotic and is more structured.

The GM you interacted with is a T1 CSR you privately messaged. They don't have access to all logs, and this is by design. They have to escalate it to a T2 GM in a petition so it gets looked at and chat logs can be pulled.

I just wanted to mention that OP and I discussed the above in private and it's been resolved since then, and there was a resolution where OP also received a forwarded apology from the person who reported him - the apology being for griefing his pull with the mob. Neither OP nor the other player has an action against their account still active, and they were able to work out their differences.

We're adults, and we trust our players to be, too.

You're lucky you didn't get suspended or banned for being a repeat offender. Chances are if you just ignore the tard, they will get bored and leave. Dispell the mob? Move to another spot? Petition em in silence. To openly bash a server when you are in the wrong is lol. Merry Christmas buddy
