I think I may have found the cause. The issue seems to do with the "Spire" tool that's part of Akk-Stack. In that tool, when you start up your server, it provides you with the option to select zones that will be static. I typically set cities as static zones, to prevent stuff sold to merchants from disappearing everytime the zone resets, which is very often when the zones are dynamic.

Spire seems to identify the static zones, but does not assign ports for these static zones. I checked the Launcher Zones table and indeed no ports are set, well the ports are set but they're all zero (0). I think this means that the dynamic zones try and use port 0 everytime someone tries to use them, which crashes the client, without a crash message.

When the server isn't busy, I'm going to try and assign some ports to the zones I want static and see what happens...
