gotfrags down??

please nOOoOOoOoOOOOO!!!!

First night on the emulator, *LOVED* it. It's amazing how far you all have come with this thing, it's a very nice piece of work. One problem though, can't get a connection to the login server now. 8(

First thing I checked was eqw shortcut, it was pointing to eqgame.exe and not to the patcher. Next thing I checked was my eqhosts.txt, which had the correct gotfrags.com addresses. Last thing I checked, www.google.com.. it came speedily up and after a few clicks my connection seemed to be functional.

Please say it ain't so!

Most likely gotfrags.com is having bandwidth or ISP troubles and thats why your unable to connect. I was able to play for 2 hours today with the latest EQlive patch so its not the patch thats causing trouble. And you dont need any software to run the game using the gotfrags server unless you want to run your own in which case you should wait for version 2.4. To play EQ with the full screen mode you dont need any software except editing the Eqhost.txt file in the everquest directory. The emulator works well also but it can be a pain with 2.3 and the new patch. I would just use the normal game software and connect to gotfrags as soon as they are back in operation.

I'm glad you're enjoying the Emu so much Belinus! Our dev team works very VERY hard to get things rolling, and new stuff is coming in daily it seems

Gotfrags is the experimental testbed for all the new code.. It's the test server for a beta product, i.e. VERY buggy. The patch on 2/13/02 broke alot of stuff, and the coders are trying to put stuff back together.. However there's something funky, and as a result the server is crashing quite often, as well as disconnecting people. Have faith, keep trying.

When it is down though.. Fire up packetcollector and go play on EQlive.. that's what i do anyways
