The ultimate EQEMu Server Project

Hail all, I think it's finally time to create the ultimate server, the Val`Sharith Server. I have some big ideas for a server, I just need some more people to help. I'll go ahead and throw out some ideas I've been having.

The server would be totally legit, but quite different from EverQuest Live.
Items will be balanced out to make it easier for small groups of players to raid and kill boss mobs, due to the smaller population on EQEMu.

Every player will start out with a standard issue set of armor with leather-like AC.

Guards of newbie zones will cast a few low level beneficial spells on players when hailed.
Every city will have a Stablemaster that sells No-Rent bridles for
100pp each.

Many zones will be revamped (and renamed) and there will be a dynamic storyline for the server that will allow players to shape the world and control what happens to the server.

There will be an arsenel of new spells, creatures, quests, and items.

Bosses will work quite differently. Once a boss has been killed, it will never respawn. The server will be carefully moderated and new bosses will be added periodically.

Another big change will be items. Nearly every named item (not including generic sets of armor and weapons) will be Artifact. This will create a very nice economy, and characters will be much more personal to players. New items will also be added periodically so that the players that play first will not receive all the benefits of the
server.

There will be a new rewards system in place as well. At events, not only will players receive special items and titles, but sometimes players will even receive a Star (*) added to their last name. Once a player gets three stars (***), they can exchange their stars for special class/race/level specific items. This will make players strive to be their best, and participation will be at a maximum.

To make this all possible, we will a server-runner to host, repair, and maintain a dedicated server. We will also need to hire Guides and GMs to moderate the server.

I am very experienced with the Admin Tool, and Kaiyodo's Item Editor and Spell Editor, and would be willing to work very hard to make all of this possible.

if you need an experienced gm/lead gm i can help you guys out. I been gm on krushers and freedom alliance for about 1.5 yrs now.

I hate to say this... but EQEMu was only started Dec 6th, 2001. It hasn't been around for a year and a half. There also has not been a server up since then. The longest up (on same hardware/same location) would be FH, but under different names.

if it was started dec 6 2001 it has been around for 1.3 years which is pertty darn close to 1.5 years :P

I'd love to be part of something like this.

I worked as a Guide on EQ for SONY for just over a year, so I'm used to being on the "admin" side of the game, albeit under SONY's tight control.

If you need help with any part of it, please let me know.

haven't seent the Val`Sharith Server up for a while.. saw it up like once in the past 2 weeks, but when I tried to log in, I got booted.

hmmm.. will keep eye out for it tho>>

yeah, i tried to sign up for a spot as a GM or guide but it wouldn't let me. said i can't drive or something :P

Arroe: You have to send Zerjz an email or talk to him in mIRC.

and the reason you cant get in is because hes hosting it from his comp, which is not the server we will be having it on. Just wait, we are redoing the entire database from scratch to ensure a immersive experience. Once we finish it though, it will be awesome.

Sorry, but I can't help in anyway with the server, mainly because Im pretty inexperienced when it comes to moderating or anything else... All I know is if someone begs for stuff, you give em the good old HULK SMASH! lol.

However, this is one thing I would really love to see (and wonder why Sony hasn't thought of it), the fact that boss mobs never respawn is great, for one reason because there will be no camping to get certain items.

I would love to be a GM/Guide/ETC I have been around for 9 months (last account was banned for spamming, for saying,"Thank You" so devs please don't ban this one, I hardly even use the forums anyway.) I ran The Necropolis for awhile which was a pretty stable server... I also did a bit of GMing on Silent Joes and a few others... Also if I can get used to the item editor again I could help you guys make items :juggle: :flagus:

well if you need some help i can do a little for you. lets see first off im getting a dsl connection so i will have 24hr servers up. Im hosting my own set of websites. on this computer. so i can host your site for you. my site will be http://www.gamingedge.net/"whateveryouwant" or i could register a domain for you if you wanted. I could run your servers on my computer if you wanted and give you access rights to the EQEmu part of the database and the Fourms part of the database for your site. and i could help you with webdesign if you wanted. i'm rather good at webdesign. i'll have to set a sample site up for you some time so you can check it out if you want. you can get ahold of me at this email address if you like. ajone@adams.net. I should have the dsl connection some time this month or next month. oh and the part on making the items. that one could be a little hard at first. there are alot of data used in creating the items. but if you study it for a while im sure you could figure it out. well, catch you l8er.
