Default To anyone who has gotten EQEmu Patcher to work on WinXP...

I am starting to think there is more than one copy of this file floating around. So, I am curious if I could have someone send me their working copy to me so I can try it.
Perhaps this is chasing a wild goose, but hey...nothing else has worked. Always get 'cant connect to patch server'.
Anyways, send to jtuma007@charter.net (yeah, yeah, dont bother sending virus) if you would do me the favor.
If its too big for e-mail (I dont remember size limits) I can open an accout on my FTP site to upload it.

Thanks to whomever helps =)

Default I would send it to you, but...

I would send it to you, but it's 5.22 MB & with me being on a dial-up connection (not even 56K, given my poor phone lines), it's not the sort of slow torture I'd relish.

I do have the patcher running perfectly in Windows XP Home Edition (fully patched with all latest updates) though. The copy I have is the one available for download at: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/e...r.exe?download

Unless you get a corrupted download (in which case the .EXE installer won't function), it'll be the very same thing I have running on my machine.

No difference. I have XP Pro and that is the same download I use. It works fine. One thing though, don't know if it matters or not: I have Service Pack 1 and the .NET Framework installed. This may or may not be required, but it wouldn't hurt to have them anyway.

EDIT: Corrected some spelling mistakes...not quite awake yet :P

Well, thats interesting. I dont have SP1, in fact, it wont let me install it. I have XP version that was given to all computer manufacturers at the pre-release conference (doesnt need to be registered)
So...guess the patcher wont work for me? /gasp
Have to just wait for the emu to be updated then. /sigh
Confusing to me though, because EQ Live works just fine.
Oh well. Thanks for the feedback =)

ok so the devs edited my post...no bother

guess they can distribute files via their home brewed patch program but any of us direct sending them is wrong?

hehe, whatever...someone has a deluded sence of rules.
Im glad they monitor for 'banable' stuff but cant answer questions.

maybe ethernal quest will update soon...
