Actually talk to a good lawyer about their EULA. If they tried to prosecute anyone based on their EULA they would get laughed out of court. And if they came after me I would come right back after them. The only thing they dare try to hold the EULA up to is banning people. That is the only thing it is useful for.

Ever notice that all the rest of the software you install and use on your computer only presents the EULA once. That's because forcing people to agree to it more then once invalidates it. Now you're agreeing under duress.

Ummm, we'll be banned from EQLive, which few of us play. How would anyone CATCH someone who wasn't, without some warrant to invade personal information. Last I checked, person to person (coorporations are people under law) contracts that are breached aren't exactly worth a judge allowing privacy-invading tactics. Sony would waste a LOT of money to come after each of us.

i was in an eq live chatroom a few weeks ago and eqemu came up and the GM's already know about it they acted as if they didnt give a shit either.

EVERYONE??? I dont' play EQLive, I don't have to follow them rules, I am not breaking anything. I also just said it is LEGAL, as in, they can't take you to court.

I'm not tryin to lay blame on anyone here but the everquest eula is for the use of the software as well as the eqlive servers. so eventhough you don't play on the live servers you are still violating it. i play eqemu so i'm not saying you wrong to do so, but those are the facts.

I'm amazed at the some of the chatter here. Correct me if I'm wrong, but most of it looks like:

I really want to play EQEmu and I'm having a hard time or unable to and it's your JOB to make mine work. Furthermore, if you don't help me play this thing I really want to I'm going to attempt some petty little antic to try to make your life harder.

I really can't believe that someone with the IQ to type would have the thought process of a child. Really, look at what that saying: "You got a candy bar and if you don't give me some I'm going to tell your mom!"

Newsflash: The store owner gave the candy bar away for cleaning his sidewalk, go ask him...before or after you tell my mom, no matter to me.

Frankly, I'm guessing that most of you are trying to get into EQEmu because you got run off EQLive for begging, stealing and for being generally known as mooches. EQEmu is best off without you"in their world." For those of you seriously having problems and really looking to solve them in a civilized and adult manner.....nevermind, you are probably doing exactly that, which means you aren't whining like a 5 year old on this thread.

Oh, so you think my typing is good, but you think my brain functioning is a little crook. Okay, lets put you in my shoes and see how you feel. Incase your wondering:
a) I can't connect to server.
b) Good advice, but not helping.
c) GMs won't do shit = temper.
Well, EverQuest blows when hosted on an Emulated Version, but guess what guys, a game far more enjoyable (that works) is to arrive FREE, absolutely FREE of charge. This game is known as Ragnarok Online - http://www.ragnarokonline.com/ <- Check it out.

again i repeat sony doesnt CARE about EQEMU...if you admit to them you play it they have the right to ban you and not pay your money back..oh well you can STILL download the files. Wonder why the files for Ykesha were free? Ykesha you only had to pay 17$ (i did anyways) for the key thats it. Sony cannot do a damn thing to you besides ban your account and you deserve to be anyways if you go blabbing to them that you play. But they obvioiusly arent worried about their fanbase leaving because look how many players on live there are to the many (2?) emulators for eq out there....go figure

I am having same problems as Valdaor, but I unable to play. I found out an idea, if your EQEmu Patcher works, look at the files it downloads, then take a copy of them from where the directory is you installed them to and zip them. Then you can possibly host them on Geocities seen that EQEmu won't do anything. Also EQEmu has to remember that technology improves everyday and that not everyone is running Windows 98 but a more reliable Windows like XP or Windows 2000 Proffessional and ME. There should be a way round these proxies, all that needs to happen is for the patcher to be hosted differently. If you can't do that, then EQEmu Patcher is screwed for 100's of us. If I could do something, I would.. Why don't you GM's show a little support in the players too. Don't get all uptight about a rude person, I know what he's going through. He just wants to have a nice game of EQEmu that you guys are suppose to provide for us.. well that's all I got to say for now.
