Default Static VxD?

Hello, I am new to this forum and I have a question that I am hoping can get answered here. I have a AMD Athlon 1.3ghz computer running on Microsoft ME (ugh). Anyways, This weekend my computer just blanked out on me while on the internet. The monitor blanked out and the light on the monitor started blinking orange then green back and forth. The computer was still running. I restarted my computer multiple times but still did the blinking monitor thing. So, I left it off for a couple hours and came back and it came on again, but i started getting all kinds of (blue screen) errors with VXD and other stuff. Then my computer shutoff again but when i restarted it this time it would boot up but right before it goes to the desktop the screen would go black, over and over as many times as i started it. Finally I decided to RE-install windows by changing boot up order and putting in the ME disk and it re-installed windows ME. THisis getting way long so (skip alot of frustrating time) basically my computer wont run unless I go to selective start up (msconfig) and uncheck the static VxD tab. With that unchecked it will run, but with it checked it goes black screen at bootup to desktop. Sorry so long...anyone know any clue whats going on here?

Ron ...Thanks

If it's hardware, just look for the buggy hardware. It's probably just a driver if it's a .vxd, but it might be windows. If all else fails, remove sound card and unnecessary stuff like ethernet and try to get it to crash again. If it refuses to crash, keep searching for defunct hardware.

Most of my bad hardware just refuses to work.

It sounds like video or memory or something vital to operation is failing. Do you have any junk stuff around to swap with? That's how I figure out what's failing me. Also check your temperature and fans in your system.
