Default New Character Models in Old World

I am building a server based on the original everquest. How would I go about getting the newer character models to show up. Everything that I have tried recently has not helped and it is still using the older models. I would appreciate any help.

If you disable Luclin+ expansions, I don't know that you can get them to work on the client end, even.

All of my clients have POP installed on their computers and it is still giving them the old character models. If it is the client, I am not sure what we are all doing wrong? I would appreciate any help.

Does your server have Luclin available on your "old world" server? If not, how can you expect the clients to have it available? They follow the server's lead.

I was told by a couple of people that this is possible. But no one seems to know how to do it. There is a server, I can't remember which one, that uses the old world and has the new character models. so does anyone know who to turn on the expansions or know how to mod the expansions on the server side?

Where in the server software are the options Loudent2? I think some people are not understanding what I am trying to do. I want to enable Luclin Character Models on an EQ Classic server. I don't want Iksar, Vah Shir to be created. I dont want persons creating Barbarian, Troll or Ogre Beastlords either. I want an Old World Classic EQ Server with the new character models. I need to know if this is possible? Winter Roar at one time I believe had its server running this way and that is what I would like as well. If anyone can help me with this, I would really appreciate it.

AFAIK the races and classes shown, as well as which models are used are controlled exclusively in the client. I could be wrong as I haven't looked at the source code in that area. Still, you could disallow certain races but I don't think you could actually remove them from the client as you have no controll over it. It resides on the client machine.

As far as models, even if you could control which models to use you shouldn't. It is for the player to decide which models to use based on capability of his machine. Even with higher powered machines having 50 people gathered in an area can be taxing and when I played on eqlive I never had all luclin models enabled.

As far as how to change them clientside, start up everquest and after you agree to the terms there should be a series of buttons: connect, account options ... click options, hit next and you'll have a list of every race male and female you can turn on and off luclin models in there. You also have the ability to turn off horses and new elementals.

Now I think that we are on the same page Loudent2. I dont want to govern the models per say. I just want the new models to load if the player wants them. I am only using classic zones, so I would like to disable certain Race/Class. Let say I click on Barbarian Beastlord, even though I have the luclin expansion enabled, it would say something like "that Race/Class is not available on this server. Same as if I clicked on the iksar or vah shir. So if this is possible to prevent certain feature from working? I would appreciate any help.

The new models WILL load if the players want them. You shouldn't have to worry about that.

To disallow classes I'm almost certain that you'll have to change some source code to enforce that.

Clients must have luclin installed to use new models. There server can't have the Luclin expansion disabled. You need code changes to limit class and race.
