Default Idea

Would there be any way of editing the patch file so that it would (a) only patch when you wanted it to / (b) make a seperate file with the original code and make the current xml so that it didn't patch- then if you wanted it to actually patch you could either copy the code over or just change the thing right qick?

Then again I could just be gabbing- but I just thought of that- lemme know

why would you ever need to run patcher? use EQW or "eqgame.exe patchme" (although i do not reccomend using patchme, if u encounter problems try EQW before asking for support).

why would you recomend not using the eqgame patchme? does it cause errors?

Also, on the other note, I don't like eqw too much because it takes up more ram and causes alot of lag and also it is too small- it would be better if there was a feature to maximize is- although still maintaining the layout of being able to go in and out of the game... just my 2 cents...

1st off EQW takes little to no ram. Just tested on my system says that its taking up 2310k (less than 2 megs) of ram OOOOOO thats OH so much!

As for lag that issue has to do with your vid card or your CPU being too slow. Tho i have run it fine on my p2 400 w/ 8meg vid card and 200megs of ram.

You can maximixe the EQW window with ease...all you have to do is set in game Resolution to match that of yer desktop resolution. IE. You run yer desktop at say 800x600.. then set the everquest resolution to 800x600 that will force full screen and you can still ALT-TAB arround to other windows.

eqgame.exe patchme method works but from what i have seen EQW solves alot of problems and IMPROVES overall performance of the game.
