Cannot get past char selection

I am using EQlive that I copied from my normal directory which I play regularly. I made sure it was patched to current before applying EQEmu patch. I can now login and get to server char selection screens, but after a cetain time (even if I just sit there) it will go black and occasionally say I have been disconnected and drop me back ot server selection.

I have seen some mention of this in previous posts. I have tried patching back to EQlive and then patching back to EQEmu as was suggested a couple times without success.

Any help would be appreciated.
