Default Buffs fading as soon as they're cast...

Whenever I cast a buff (either with a legal spell that my class can use, or with #cast), it starts blinking as soon as it lands. This is causing several issues on the server, such as DoT's that fade as soon as they land, snare not doing anything, and all the NPCs cast like crazy because as soon as they buff themselves and each other, they all fade and have to be recast.

The only buff that I've discovered that does not do this is Koadic's Expansive Mind, from the Silver Band of Secrets.

This has happened with every db I've tried, from Telmet to Drawde 1.1 final, anybody know why this might be happening? And how I can fix it?

Thanks in advance.

0.4.4, which isn't from CVS, it's whatever is packaged up on Sourceforge... this is what it says when I start World:

Using database 'eq' at localhost
[Status] CURRENT_WORLD_VERSION:EQEMu 0.4.4
[Error] CURRENT_WORLD_VERSION:EQEMu 0.4.4

If you're casting spells way above your level the spell formulas get very confused they weren't ment to be used at those levels.

I'll try using one of the CVS builds, thanks.

It doesn't seem to matter what level I am or what level the spell is. I can cast Shield of Maelin on myself as a level 65 Necro and it'll start fading immediately. Really weird. I did notice that Root and the Undead Necro slow spells seem to last like they should.

One other thing I'm having problems with: a lot (the vast majority) of the items have "Unknown Spell" as their effect. They seem to have the right casting time (long casting time for epics, etc), there just isn't any effect. Is this an issue with Drawde's latest, or is my spell data file messed up, or... ?

Thanks again.

I grabbed the 0.44 7/8/03 build from http://www.rpg-forums.com/eqemu/ and am now running that. I also grabbed the newest spells_en.txt straight from the EQ patcher (http://patch.everquest.com:7000/patc...ells_en.txt.gz) and buffs are still blinking as soon as they land. Very strange, rather frustrating :\ On the flipside though, some of the Secrets gear from VT that I whipped up have their focus effects now. Most items still say "Unknown Effect" (like Dain ring, etc).

Any other ideas?
