Patcher won't patch etc

Hey there, first before you start posting, you may want to read some posts..

I've read alot of posts on the patcher (I'm running Windows XP Pro as well) and have also read on nearly every post not to ask about the patcher, so since I figured you've already gone ahead and done that but not taken the time to research your prob, I'll just help you out since I went through the same problems on xp pro.

The patcher isnt up, wont be up and I do not think the dev's have plans on putting another up (from previous post I've read) so here's what you need to do....go into your EMU folder and look for the DataRate.txt file, change it from 5.0 to 8.0 That will get you into the login. Now, if you have patched since SoE patched in December, do not try to log into the 0.4.4 servers as you are unable to without the december patch files and there is nearly no way to get those back once you have patched since then. The only servers you can log into are the 0.5.5 servers and from what I understand those are the dev test servers so there's not really all that much to do unless you know CVS (read about it on another post but I'm not familiar with it yet) which I plan on reading up on soon.

Anyway, hope it helps....I use EQ Windows too and just skip the patcher altogether, go straight to the EULA and log in.....in the near future 0.4.5 will be comming out (correct me if I'm wrong, just repeating what I've read so far on the forums) and after that happens, all of us who are new to EQEmu will be able to play on the servers that have all the goodies.
