?? ads? why did yall put ads on the main page?

I am just wondering because hogie did the same thing and ever one got mad at him..

heh.. I don't believe that was the idea of it.

And don't question, just click, if you like EQEMu support it. Rather then donating, just click the banner and you'll earn them a few cents. 30k people do that a day, they'll pull in enough to manage a team fund.

Noone was mad at Hogie for putting up ads, although some were mad that Hogie wasnt more open with how much money it was actually generating, leading some to speculate that he was getting rich (99% likely that was not the case). This time we are going to be open with the dev team and vote on how to spend the proceeds. The obvious priorities being paying Krusher for his equipment/servers and for server upgrades for him to handle the increased traffic. These text based ads are perfect, you dont have 1000 popups or popdowns all over the place, and the revenue will be used to make the project better. Everyone wins

Anyone that actually whines about a text-ad on the main page, after so many people have dedicated so much time without asking anything in return, needs an ass kicking. I, for one, have already clicked the 2 links since I'm too poor to make an actual donation, and actually purchased Xylobot on the EQEmu reference since I've been meaning to anyway. It's the least I can do for the hours and hours of entertainment EQEmu has provided for me in the past 2 years.

Greetings all. Listen up please..... I WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY MONEY FOR HELPING OUT THE EQEMU PROJECT.............DONT ASK, DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT. I PROVIDE THE SERVICES TO HELP THE PROJECT.......

Use the funds for getting upgrades for the dev team.. ( ie: SCC )
