Default Question Regarding EQEmu Privileged User Commands

Hey all,

I am new to EQEMU, and am having fun so far.

There is one thing I am kind of confused about. For the EQEmu Privileged User Commands and up ranks: what are these based on?

Do you go up ranks according to the ammount of posts you have, or what? Not sure how this is based, as I can see there is more functionality with the higher ranks.

Thanks,

TzVerkaufer

Each server specifies its level of commands that it wishes to grant its users. Each server has a server-op tha thas access to all the commands and can grant you higher level access to commands. But on the majority of legit servers you will only see the basic function commands such as #zone etc. On the non-legit you can summon items and use #level. Also gms are granted a higher set of commands to run events for a server's playerbase.

Legit servers do not give you any special commands. Once they give you special commands like #zone, #cast, etc the server is non-legit.

There is no list of servers, servers are up whenever the person running it brings it up. Since i have been here i have seen at least 50 servers come and go.

Rember its people running servers out of there own house, and server are as good as the people who run and help run them, most servers are just thrown together and left that way. Wile others are 100% custom and are constantly worked on.

Do you have any suggestions for a good legit server to look for, Matt? (to play on)

By the way, what entitles a server to be legit. What are the advantages over a non-legit server or an EQLive Server?

The only difference I know of is the non-legit servers have the #zone , #summonitem stuff...

THere are some servers up but untill 5.0 is complete there all buggy.

Legit = no commands , just like live, may have costom zones ect

Semi-Legit = #zone maby #summonitem and #level, not like live IMO semi is for people wo want to see the high end game.

Non-legit = boring as hell, you can do anything you want including /kill /spawn #level ect.

The server owner set what commands people have so this is just a general list. For example someone could create a server and allow people to summon items but not Level, or #zone and thats it.

I tend to like the legit or the semi legits(as long as the semi isnt realy a non at heart.

5.0 is up to DR4 thats Developer Reliece. Once its done more servers will be up and be worth playing. Things are still realy buggy / not done.
