Default Need Help Please, If Possible.

Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone can give me a step-by-step process of getting EqEMU up and running on my machine. I have never used EqEmu before and have been trying myself but to no avail. I used to play EQ a lot about 2 Years ago i still have the Discs and the expansions and want to get up and running once more.

I also read on this web-page that there is an EQ patch that stops EqEMU working can you also tell me how to get around that so i don't bump into anymore problems.

Thanks for reading and i hope someone can help me out here, im a newbie which is obvious . Thank You!

P.S - I have yet to install EQ as it might Auto-Patch and stop me from getting into EqEmu.

The guide is here:

http://www.everquestserver.com/forum...pic.php?t=9649

But you won't be able to play as you can't patch to just prior to the patch that broke the emu. You need to wait until 5.0DR5 is done ... ETA 2007

Aww damn are you sure? I read somewhere that some people make Seperate Directories for both EqEmu and EQ to stop the patch collision, but i might be wrong? Are you 100% sure because i really want to play! :(

Well if you have an EQ client directory patched up the patch prior to 9th October 2003, you can play by following the guide, but you said you haven't installed EQ yet, so I figured you didn't have such a backup directory.

For clarification, if you install from your CDs and don't patch, it won't work. If you install from your CDs and patch, it won't work.

those files are WARZ it is against the law to give them out,

and when you sighned up for your EQEMU account you agreed not to ask for any files or you would be banned. check the rules
