Default clean EQ install

is there anyway to play emu right now after I just installed EQ?

Nope you gotta patch to EQLive to play on the 5.0 servers.

and that would break the emu code as of now right?

You patching won't do anything to the emu code. But if you want to play on any 5.0 servers your client will have to be the same version as EQlive is right now.

alrite I'll read that. sorry for being unclear, my main question was if it is possible to play Emu from a clean install, because I thought it was broken...

You must clean install, then patch to live, then use eqemu patcher.

That is the only way to play on 5.0 servers. There is no server for "clean" installs, only for patched installs.

4.4 servers run on a patch from 12/02, and if you personally backed those up, you can play on those. Otherwise, don't try. The most current patch today should be used with the most current 5.0DR today.

you do NOT use the eqemu patcher at this time, That patcher is whas brought out in case SOE patches again.

Just patch to live and follow the Guide to change your EQ host ect.

I thought new patcher made the eqhost.txt change. If so, patcher "works" to "make it compatible" with eqemu.
