Default help please

i dont know if this is the right place to post but it is the closest one i cant find

i followed the tutorial on how to play eqemu

i changed the eqhost file to
[Registration Servers]
{
"eqlogin1.eqemulator.net:5997"
}
[Login Servers]
{
"eqlogin1.eqemulator.net:5997"
}

like it said and then i right click dragged everquest.exe to my desktop continuing on to click create shortcut(s) here

i right clicked the short cut and went to the target that says ..
"C:\Program Files\EverQuest\Everquest.exe"

then i proceeded to add patchme to the end making it look like this
"C:\Program Files\EverQuest\Everquest.exe" patchme

but now when i double click this icon it brings up the patcher but then it has the download key and i have to redownload eqhost.txt and it changes it right back to what it was before

can anyone help me please and tell me what im doing wrong? thank you !

Check out the support forums, This issue has been addressed several times in the past 2 days. The answer for you is the same as it was for them.

And worst case DL EQW and use that instead, once again this is already explained in many threads look there for info.

Replace all instances of everquest.exe with eqgame.exe and it will work.

You must fix your eqhosts.txt before it will work. The eqlive patcher breaks it every time.
