Server up and running no errors, 1017 for anyone else trying

Got my server all up and going, i run mysql, world.exe, boot5zones, run everquest and log into eqemulator.net , my server on the server select , i log into my server and play works great. I have a couple friends that tried to log into same server, same way and they get 1017 errors, but they can log into other servers, as well as I can log into other servers. Could this be a database problem or a problem on the other end? any help would be appreciated. thank you.

world.exe should show some messages when they try to log in. You could add them to that thread perhaps.

world.exe doesnt show any activity for others. only when i log into my server.

If that's the case then the problem is with your network/firewall.

Since you can get online and others comming from other networks can't I'm going to guess you're behind a router/firewall and don't have your ports forwarded correctly.

duh, im very sorry, but yes your right I just set up another computer on my network and ran the network wizard the other day. it must of set the firewall on as default (win xp pro). i checked that this morning and sure enough it was enabled. sorry for the posts :( thanks for the replies though.
