Default Everquest Reboots

After gettin to the server selection screen and choosing a server to connect to, the screen goes blank like its getting into it but then just reboots the whole program and goes back to the title screen. If anyone knows why this happens or how to fix it then please help.

Thanks

Default I have the same problem

I connect no problem, click on a server, and click PLAY, it goes blank and minimizes as if it is about to start loading, and then goes back to the title screens.

I have Windows 98SE, play Live and do not have a firewall or router. I am on dial-up 56k.

I am fully updated in the main package and can play on my live character. I have not updated any expansions whicha re not necessary updates.

wasnt there a problem with dialup users connecting to the emu?
I dont know if its still around though.
Something to think about.

Edit:

Search for that problem with http://www.everquestserver.com/forums/search.php

search for dial up disconnect or something to that extent and you may find your solution.

I have tried on my dads laptop also.

All i know about it is that its an Acer and:
Windows 2000 Professional.
Pentium 3
Dialup
Trident something Videocard

Sorry I dont know the stats but that means its not just with Win98 and rather dialup is the problem.

OK since the last update I can get on to the character select screen but then once you press enter world it goes to the loading screen and after a few minutes resets again. I could connect to the 2 green servers that didnt have DR1 next to them. The only DR1 that wasnt locked was the Fish one and that reset after the server screen. It wasn't just a fluke getting through since I did it 8 - 10 times before it reset at the Enter World stage. The update obviously helped but it didn't help so if anyone knows ways of fixing it PLEASE help. Thanx.
