This is really the wrong place to ask, and I already answered your question on irc. have your shortcut point to:
"c:\bla\eqgame.exe" patchme
or just use eqwindows

i just unzipped the 5.2 files into my eq backup directory, i created a shortcut to eqgame.exe and put it on my desktop, then i went to properties and typed patchme at the end, and its still on EQ live stuff, any ideas on what im doing wrong?

Make sure you chaged yer eqhost.txt in yer EQ directory, REPLACE everything with
[Registration Servers]
{
"eqlogin1.eqemulator.net:5997"
}
[Login Servers]
{
"eqlogin1.eqemulator.net:5997"
}

And when you want te play live, run EQlive pacher and it'll load the other servers! Hope this helps!

i normally wouldnt do this but come on. where does it say to put the 5.2 files into your eq folder? NOWHERE ........... if you're just looking to play the game (not run your own server) you dont have to download or install ANYTHING all you do is change your eqhost.txt thats it, nothing more. its not that complicated just put this inside eqhost.txt and as long as you dont patch you can play.

Ah don't feel bad I've downloaded almost every 5.2 database out there and have yet to get one of them to work.
the standard 5.2 db works fine but when I source anything else with npc's it bombs.

5.0 works great tho...

ah now if we can just find that any key.

I think you problem is you need to edit your shortcut to everquest
you know the little icon on your desktop. make it say c:\sony\everquest.exe -patchme.

but reading the FAQ you would already know that hmmm..
