Default Making rogues smell less badly...

I was thinking that pickpocket would need some sort of check to see if an item was magical or not, to check if pickpocket could succeed.
I want to remove that flag... if there is such a one, or write something to re-allow rogues to pickpocket magic items.
Yes, this is a little annoying if the dragon you killed is empty, but that goes to show how adventuresome some rogue was earlier than your raiding party.
This certainly wouldn't go into everyone's db... but I am wondering if it *is* a flag check sort of thing, or if I need to figure out some other way to get magic items back into rogue's grubby fingers.

I don't think it should be possible to Pick Pocket magical items, just as Disarm shouldn't be allowed on magical weapons.
Reasons are pretty simple (Verant stated them when they made the changes). If you could Disarm (or Pick Pocket) magical items, I would simply run around with my monk and Disarm all mobs ith nice loot. That way I would be able to get a LOT of nice items without being able to kill the mob. Same thing goes for rogues (though they aren't quite as good at it as monks, since Pick Pocket can agro a mob)

Just my oppinion

You guys don't need to end your posts telling me it's just your opinion...

My point is that Verant is an ub3r g00b3r:

Bilbo Baggins would never have been able to slay Smaug, yet he stole his cup.
Rogues are SUPPOSED to be sneaky thieves, if you're telling me that's exactly what you'd do if rogues could be sneaky, then great!!

disarm is another question, that I believe should have been based on the target's level compared to the disarmer's level, I think, yet again, that Verant g00b3red it up, but frankly, I don't really care about disarm, as many, many classes have it.

I don't even plan to play a rogue, ever. They suck. I just want them to suck less.

If anyone could tell me if it's the Magic Item flag that disallows them from pickpocketing or if it's something else, please holler.

Wouldn't it make them all the more welcome into your guild if they could steal loot without loss of xp to a large mass of characters? Or do you prefer Hack 'n Slash?

*plan to play a rogue// not play to play a rogue

There really isn't anything to stop this, so far as I know, the client does not check to see if a pickpocket resulted in an item.

Of course, even if it does check, you could always override this by simply spawning an item on the player's cursor (or on the ground).

I just did a couple global searches in 3.0. Is the core skill even implemented?

Where did you get the notion rogues suck?

I'd think otherwise if you're referring to EQ Live.
