Default just came back from a long break from eqemu

trying to use eqemu again, and im having trouble getting it to start up correctly. (im sure im just doing something simple wrong) everytime i go to start up using the shortcut edited with the "patchme" on the end it automatically changes my eqhost.txt back to what it was for the real everquest.

my question what am i doing wrong? and/or how do i make this stop happening?

Thanks in advance,
Oaftorious

are you making a shortcut to eqgame.exe? I think that if you shortcut to everquest, it will try to connect to eq and update your eqhost file... check that out to make sure you have the right file.

You can always use EQW if you cant get the shortcut working.

Step 4 from Merth's guide should still work, http://www.eqemulator.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=9649

or use eqw ... http://www.eqwindows.com and deselect the patch option.
