Default A few questions.

I'm fairly new to the community and finally got my eqemu working a couple of days ago. I am now reading about World.exe 0.8 and Drawdes 8.0, what exactly are these and who needs to run them, are they server side or client side? If I'm connecting to say Eros server, would I need to d/l those in order to use the items and experience the spawns in the world or would I load them from his server automatically?

Also, where is character info stored, on the server or my computer?

Thanks in advance,
Mind

ok the drawde 0.8 is a database with many spawns and items in it , you use it to replace the database that come with the emu .

you dont need it if you dont run a server , if you dont run a server you just need to change your eqhost.txt

char are of course saved on the server

hope this helps

Whoever is hosting the server has a database already sourced. Some have spawns and some don't. Most of them have items, some more than others. If you decide to host your own server or to use minilogin, then you will need to source your own database. Drawde's is excellent.

Default info to help

world.exe is a server side file, and is currently version 0.3.0 not 0.8. Drawde makes a 3rd party db.sql file( which is version 0.8 ) to import during setup instead of the one that came with the server download. As stated Drawde db.sql file will contain npc, spawns, merchants, etc.. All data is stored in the database on the server in MySQL. Only those ppl who wish to run there own server need to d/l these files. Hope this helps.
