Just curious what i should put into a new computer to make it strong, hard drive processor, ram, vid card? Let me know everyone best opinions, ill tally them up and try to build one up, oh and what version of windows works best with server software. Any and all comments would be great! Thanks in advance.

'Roids. To make yoru computer as strong as can be, you need to inject it with massive amounts of steroids. I'd recommend shooting it directly into the DIMMS, but others prefer to go through the back and actually start at the power supply.

For a server, video card doesn't matter. It's all about bandwidth of your internet connection. Aside from that, I think Ram is the most important (at least 1024mb), followed by cpu (at least 2ghz). As for a hard drive, get a SCSI.

That setup should run things just fine.

I'm not sure that the files are even multithreaded to make use of multiple processors, but for the database it may be useful. More than anythign though...it's bandwidth that you need.

Will my windows 3.1 run the emulator? Should I upgrade to a 486 66mhz or is a 286 good enough?

Well, I WAS going to get a 286...then I thought I'd splurge and buy a 486, but it seems everyone is SOOOO high tech and has to be better than me. Screw you all! I'll be fine with my trusty TRS-80.

I may get one of those 2 megabyte hard drive things too. Oh! And a green screen instead of the black and white...that black and white bugs my eyes after a while...

This site takes a long time to load with my 300 baud modem... :(

Sinclair (Timex) ZX81 had 1KB RAM as standard, but you could buy a 16KB expansion pack
