can not connect

Everytime i try to log in i get an error saying can not establish a connection with server, check server status and make sure you are connected to the internet. my internets working and the servers are up but i still keep getting the same message.

Do you get this when connecting to the login server or a game server? If the lgoin server make sure you have the right spelling and everythign for the server name in eqhost.txt. If its the game server make sure you only conenct to 5.7 DR4 servers, the others aren't compatible iwth the latest patch.

i get the message on the login server and i have checked the eq host file and everything seems to be right. i've done everything the guide told me to.

Perhaps you have a firewall that is blocking the connection? Theres not much else that can be wrong here since the file is formatted correctly or it would crash instead of timing out.

The only thing that would be blocking it is norton but it says that it's permiting it on the configure menu. Am i missing something?

Make sure this is the eqhost.txt you are using and not and older version of it
[LoginServer]
Host=eqemulator.net:5995

Thats what i have in the EQhost note book but i keep getting the error. and is it normal that every time i run the patcher that i have to retype the EQ host thing?

I've been messing with this all night. i've tried everything it seems like. does anyone have a clue on whats wrong?

I've messed around with my username and even when i enter a phony username/password i get the same error. could it be something wrong with my account? i'm pretty sure i registered correctly.

yes, I got the same thing this morning when logging into the "old" server login to play WR. 1001 error. Have NOT changed anything within that directory for a long time. May be that the login server is just down right now...

Ive been playing with not problems all the way to about midnight last night.

This morning I get that error. So it is not our files. It is something new.

Ok, it was eqhost file for me. WR patcher must have downloaded different version. had login server as lethalencounter.blah.blah:port#

Changed back to version in how-to and got on. He must have a proxy or something set up that is down now.

But, WR was locked anyways :(

ok umm..... i followed the whole how to... and i keep getting an error that says... could not find login server... please make sure eqhost.txt is in your eq directory... it is... but it seems to not wanna find it.

Ok, this thread is old news now. They were working on server, now all is good in the world again....
