Default Factions

Just some basic questions to the faction system.

What makes 1 faction not like another.. For instance, what makes the Kelethin guards, not like the crushbone orcs?

So far the only theory i can come up with is faction modifier when you kill the creature.

for instance, when you kill a crush bone orc, and you gain 20 kelethin guard faction. that is what decides the Kelethin guards dont like the crushbone orc. maybe i am thinking to hard. I think there is smoke coming out of my ears...

If it isnt. then please.. lemme know...

There are two tables in the DB regarding faction

faction_list and faction values

Faction values is kinda obvious it holds each players faciton value for each faction.

faction list i havent quite figured out yet i think the way it works is its got the following for entrys

id (its id)
name (factions name)
base (?)
modc1-15
modr1-r15
modd106-208

I think the mods are for setting factions that are allied with the current faction, neutral, and enemy.

My guess is you would put the id number in there you might ask govtcheese he seems to know alot mroe about faction for db.

The mods are for class, race, and diety to modify faction based on those. There are a few good writeups on faction here in the forums. Just do a search on faction and look for the message titles sound like they are for what you are looking for. I found them pretty easilly that way. There is also one somewhere that talks about what faction level for the various con levels but can't remember where it was offhand. But found it by searching faction as well.
