Trouble with Greenleaf
Whenever I try to create a character, I am either told that the zone is not available, or the character is created and I instantly get disconnected. The same is true when I attempt to log onto an existing character.
Hopefully this was the right forum.

The error you were getting with That zone is not available should only happen when TGL is very populated. If no one is in that zone and all the other zone servers are taken up there is no zone server to start up your zone therefor you cannot login. Second problem your having i cant help you with.

It happened to me, you just have to find a character whose starting zone is available, then use the #movechar [charname] [zone] command to move the character you want to play as to an available zone.
A wood elf is a good choice, Greater Faydark is almost always up.

Yeah, I apologize for these issues, but it's a problem that surfaced in the last DR4 update, and I just can't shake it.
Basically the server starts out with at least 35 zones available, and ends up at approx. 10-14 after a few hours. Some bug is causing zone server authorization to fail, and it shuts down.

I don't know what happened with this. I made a half elf bard, and some of the guards in kelethin agro'd me, as well as a bard in the bard guild place.

Part of the problem might be...
I am having the same problem, so I tried to create another character and login to a different zone. No matter where the character should be starting (or what it says under there name on the login screen) the game tries to put them in MINES OF GLOOMINGDEEP... Don't know where that is, but I hope it helps!

Some server change the starting zone to where ever they want so that all characters start in the same place, but there is no way to change what the client says in the character creation process so they can be different.

This happened to me too. I know it's no one's fault, but it is very frustrating because it basically means you can't connect. I wonder if it would be possible to make it so characters are automatically routed to a working zone if for some reason the zone you want can't become available. :
Anyway, hope this gets fixed soon because it seems like a pretty good server-- when I can actually get onto it.

Any zone that crashes is supposed to be restarted by world.exe, but it still doesn't restart? Maybe the server can't handle 35 zones open at once. :
Bad, bug, bad!

Whats happening atleast on my server is the zone will "crash" (not exit itself). And as you said World.exe boots itself back up the only problem is tehre are now 2 zones with the same port number. I dont think it knows which one is good and or bad causing problems since if it goes to the ruined one it doesnt reconize it as a zone.
