Default Can you run your onw PUBLIC LOGON SERVER?

I know and use minilogon but it seems to be limited to the local network. Is there a way to run a full Public Logon server of your own? I have found mention of a program called PUBLICLOGON.exe but have yet to find it.

Thanks

If there is such a program, it wasn't coded here.

The latest patches broke minilogin, so even it's going the way of the dodo.

The person who wrote the login server has decided not to release any version of it and only run it on the EQEmu login server so theres no public version at all available.

So basically if you want to play privately with your brother across town and your sister on the other side of the country you HAVE to go thru the EQEMU site.. that really sucks.. sorry I wish there was some third part logon server for this great package. :( :(

Then write one. It will get done eventually, when someone needs it and decides to make it.

http://www.geocities.com/everquestgrl/

Check out this site and look at the files.. I think there a little out of date but if anyone out there knows alittle C++ you could maybe get them working right.

I tried compiling them and got something like 77 errors and I don't know what I am looking at. I am using VC++ 6.0

any help would be great.

Thanks

Those are jsut extremely old versions of our source and would not be helpful to anyone trying to make a login server because the code had to be completely rewritten since the new login process not at all the same as the old one.

Default Another idea..

Could use mini-login and just set up VPN on your firewall and give your friends accounts to log in. They would look like local addresses, though they would be outside your firewall..

But minilogin is not compatible with the current login process, the only program that is currently is the one running on the login server that they don't want to give out for whatever reason.

mini login is broke. and will stay that way

Public login was an earlyer version of minilogin..again Broke.

as for somone writing a working login server like eqemu's i HIGHLY doubt that. For that you would have to decrypt the eq packet stream (ie EQcrypto). many many many coders have tried and failed.

Dont like the way we do things go over and use EthQ. You wont be missed arround here.

I believe that they will not release the code for it or any exe because that would give anyone the knowledge they needed to crack into either this login server or even eq live's login. I can imagine releasing code like that might upset sony :p
