What the hell does this have to do with emu? you don't pay for the emu, and as of right now you don't have to pay to use the everquest patcher, so i am lost as to what this has to do with anything.
I suggest you search and read around on the boards, your eqhost.txt is chaning becuase your running the everquest.exe program when you should be running eqgame.exe with the patchme perameter. dont' ask me how to do this becuase its posted 100000 other places. this will allow you to skip the patching process before starting eqgame.exe.
