Default Routers, Help, And Questions.

Alright, I've figured out some interesting information about certain router types. I think I can bypass a router firewall with some commands, yet I need to know some information (This is for people wanting to start a server, and are behind a router.)

I need to know These 3 pieces of Information:

The Trigger Port of EQ and EQemu:

The Public Port of EQ and EQemu:

The Protocol used on Both (TCP or UDP):

Any responses to this would be super, thank you.

World.exe should be listening on 9000, when it hands clients off to zone, zone is listening on 7995-7999 (ports listed in boot5zones) the rest of the ports should be just for world <-> zone connection, non to the client.

What router do you have? I have a LINKSYS BEFSR41 4-Port Cable/DSL Router with a built-in Firewall. What I do is this:

in Boot5Zones.Bat, I have the IP set to my *real* IP given to me by my cable company. I don't set it to 192.168.1.*, I set it to the real IP that the router is getting. I then go into the Routers settings (typically at 192.168.1.1) and set Port Forwarding for 9000 as well as 7995, 7998, 7997, 7999 to my internal IP (192.168.1.*) for the machine.

Additionally, I go into DMZ Host setup and make my server machine a the DMZ Host for the network. Try this and see if it works.

You don't have to set your server up in the DMZ (and most likely don't want to)

If your only running 5 zones with the standard ports, you just need to foward 9000 7995-7999 to your servers lan IP and use the routers internet IP in all your config files (db.ini uses 127.0.0.1 and the second set of IPs in boot5zones are also 127.0.0.1)

My router is a 4 port SMC. I have had no luck either trying to get it to work.

I have asked this a couple of times but never gotten a answer. If your only trying to do a LOCALHOST login, does it matter if you have a router or not??

I finnally got localhost working. I went in and did the thing Leggo said to do and it works now. I haven't tried going online with it, but it seems to be ok off-line. Now my next task is trying to figure out how to get the spawn databases in :0

Default Here is some help

In your Boot9xZone Edit this

@echo off
start zoneNT . YourIP 7995 127.0.0.1
start zoneNT . YourIP 7996 127.0.0.1
start zoneNT . YourIP 7997 127.0.0.1
start zoneNT . YourIP 7998 127.0.0.1
start zoneNT . YourIP 7999 127.0.0.1
exit
cls

Where it Say Your Ip, Get your LAN Ip Address to the System that is going to host the server. Errase the Your ip It should look something like this.

start zoneNT . 194.158.0.1 7995 127.0.0.1

Put the same Ip on all 5 of them.

Then next in your LoginServer.in.

[LoginServer]
loginserver=eqlogin.eqemu.org
worldname=Type Server Name Here
locked=false
account=
password=
worldaddress=Put your IP here
loginport=5999

Put your Same Ip In the Login Server part. And Ip in WorldAddress. Should look like this.

[LoginServer]
loginserver=194.158.0.1
worldname=Type Server Name Here
locked=false
account=
password=
worldaddress=194.158.0.1
loginport=5999

"NOTE" If you Get error Redit The LoginServer= part to say "localhost" and try again."

After that Go to the other pc's that going to connect to that and go to eqhost.txt file and edit it to look like this.

[Registration Servers]
{
"194.158.0.1:5999"
}
[Login Servers]
{
"194.158.0.1:5999"
}

Note that you need to use your own IP from the Lan Card. If you got Xp all you have to do is go to connection's at start and go to your lan card and highlight it and look on left side for the IP.

Once you do that Load up in order, MiniLogin, World, Boot9xZone. on the one that hosting, If you done it wright it will have no error's.

Then on the other pc's Fire up the EQW.exe and connect.
